Core

This poem was inspired by Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (the series) I do not now, nor will I probably ever own even a small portion of that empire. Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy, and the WB, however, do. So don't sue me, I wrote it for fun.
Angelus, speaking to Buffy.
Destruction I would rain on you
Destruction, fain and well
Sadness I would pour on you
Madness, swift and pure

Anger is my middle name
Fear is my obsession
Your fear is like the sweetest wine
That I've had in my possesion

Absolution that I used to seek
Now throw I to the wind
Your dissection, your blood is all I want
And I know all your sins

How do you fight, I wonder
I who know you best
Even he who watches you
Does not know the rest

Does he want you, like I do?
Know he your true name?
Does he feel how wretched you are?
You, who are to blame?

I'll hunt you till the end of time
I'll make you my queen
I'll drink your blood down like a leech
And you mine. It is my dream...

Until then, my love, rest sweetly
And lock your bedroom door
I'll see you dead, and you'll rise again
Evil to your core.

Destruction I will rain on you,
On you and all that's yours
I'll see you dead and rise again,
Evil to your core.
