Ground was broken and construction begun on 21 December 1955.
The cornerstone was laid in December 1956.
The temple was dedicated on 20 April 1958.
There are 3 Sealing rooms and 1 Ordinance rooms in the 34,000 square foot temple.
The spire is 157 feet tall.
The Hamilton Temple serves stakes in New Zealand and nearby South Pacific Islands.
