I watched HAMLET in my Hummantites class this year, and I really enjoyed it more than the version with Mel Gibson. I liked how Kenneth Branaugh changed the time period to a more later time period, rather than the Elizabethian Era. I love the play Hamlet
and I was very impressed how in this version, you could almost read along with the play and not miss a word. I also really enjoy the directions of Kenneth Branaugh, when he chooses Shakespearean plays( Much Ado About Nothing being one of my favorites).
What is you favorite Shakespearean play?

I just finished watching this version today. Thanks to a great english teacher, Hamlet was taught to me in a way that made it enjoyable (imagine that!). I wondered, what do you think of this version in comparision with the Mel Gibson version? I would l
ve to go on and share with you "Yorick Day", but I don't want to take up too much space in the guestbook! Great job! I would love to hear your comments.

Thanks for a great website. I came across it while doing research for my term paper on film versions of Hamlet, and I think it's wonderful. It's well organized, informative, and interesting. And I love Kenneth Branagh. His rendition of Hamlet is brill

I just want to say that when our English-teacher told us that we were going to watch the four hour Brannagh version, instead of...well a much shorter one with Mel, some of us were a bit disappointed. But...to our joy and surprise it was really great!! Rea
ly...we didn`t want it to end, inspite of the fact that we watched half the movie in black and white. (our English-teacher isn`t what you would call a technical wizard...)
So...we`ve seen the light!!!
And doesn`t Kenneth Brannagh look better with that blonde hair??? And another thing that was really great was that character Fortinbras of Norway!!! One last question...wasn`t Hamlet actually based on prince Amled of Denmark??

Great page.
Just stopped by after visiting your daughter's page. Your family has a terrific esthetic sense.
I do also like Kenneth Branaugh, but I was heart broken by his split with Emma Thompson.
