She climbed down from her tree house and came out on the treebridge. Instead of taking the lift down she decided to follow the bridge to the grendels main nesting area. As she walked under the canopy of leaves it was so quite. Not even the sounds of birds. This was very strange. She should be hearing the grendels rumaging about, the old mother grendel up in the tree. Only nothing, just the wind.
She got directly below where old mother normally sat and look up. Grace couldn't remember the last time the old thing had moved from that spot, but she was gone now. It slowly dawned on Grace that the grendels were missing. It wasn't just the norns. A chill ran down her spine as the reality of the situation sunk in.
She walked to the lift and pushed down. She went all the way down to the sub bay. She had to see, to see if even the sealife was gone. She got in the sub and pushed the buttons to go to the island. She stared out of the windows as it entered open sea. Yes, oh yes, the fish were still here. There were still life moving in Albia, life other then herself. She was not the only thing left living her.
The sub docked and she got out, went to the lift and up to the island's surface. She grabbed herself a coconut from the ground and walked over the the right side of the island. She sat down on the warm sand by the radio thing and cracked it open. Drinking the milk first, and then picking at the nutmeat.
She was thinking. What could have happen to them? Why was she still left behind? She had so many questions. She glanced up at the sky, looking in the distance towards the egg in the sky. She oftem had looked at it when she had felt confused or alone. It had always been there.
Suddenly she realized, it hadn't always been there! She knew how it had got there! She knew who put it there! That egg! The egg in the sky, it was...
IT WAS KARMA'S EGG!!!
If you want to know how the egg got in the sky,
if you want to know why it's called Karma's Egg,
if you want to know what happened to the grendels,
if you want to know what happened to the norn,
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.
JUST KIDDING:)
If you want to know, let me know.
This is part four of the Ma G saga
but there are quite a few more. I
need to know that there is enough
interest in this soap to keep it
going. A few posts of encouragement
would go a long way to boosting my typing
energy. It won't do a thing for my spelling
though:)
