Astronomy: a fascinating hobby

and anyone can do it...

Blackholes are interesting--but they aren't gateways to other worlds (the other worlds exist in realities we've yet to find-- but science WILL find them...) and you can't fly a spacecraft into one of them. The gravity of one of them in the Universe was... estimated to be... so strong it would crush an aircraft carrier to the size of a softball; that would be a heavy softball, huh?

The hassle of an eclipse is...if ya had the money to fly around the planet whenever you wanted-- you could virtually see them all. Most of the time, eclipses seem to happen to the other lucky souls on other continents far away. When one comes your way, check it out-- it beats watching TV any time.

The planet line-up is impressive. Check out Mars hanging out behind Us...sometimes he's as close as a hundred million miles from us. If you were talking to him on the cellphone, he'd get your words about 8 minutes later, just below light speed still isn't quite fast enough to talk real time. It would be like email, and you'd cover lots of topics with every send button pressed.

The most beautiful sight I've ever seen is Saturn in a cool, dark night. The rings are now known to be made of ice--it takes ole Saturn about 27 years or so to make a lap of the Sun...his year takes a little longer than our four seasons. The finest painting ever made, the best poem ever written, and all of Man's best creative efforts-- pale in comparison when God makes beauty.

And lenses like these, are all you need to see it.
