Preparation

Prepare the ritual space, cleaning the room or altar. Set up the altar in the center of the circle. Prepare yourself by cleansing your body and clearing your mind of all but the work ahead. Put on your robe and/or cord and jewels.

Attunement

Asperging

HP touches the salt and then the water saying:

I exorcise thee, Spirit of salt, casting out all impurities which may lie within.
Likewise do I exorcise thee, Spirit of water, casting out all impurities which may lie within.

HP places three athame-tips worth of salt in the water and mixs them deosil (sunwise, clockwise). Asperges (sprinkles the salt water) the area and participants, walking deosil around the circle.

Casting the Circle

HPs casts the circle, walking deosil around the circle with her athame, visualizing a line of blue fire growing at the edge, and saying:

I conjure thee, Circle of power,
to form a boundary between the material world of humanity and the realms of the spirit,
a guardian and a protection to preserve
and contain the power we will raise within.
I bless and consecrate this circle.

Calling the Quarters

Guardians of the Watchtowers of the East, Powers of Air, mind and imagination.
I call upon you: the breezes, winds and zephyrs ... grace our circle with your Presence this night.
Great Eagle of the Eastern Skies, I summon, stir, and call Thee up!

Guardians of the Watchtowers of the South, Powers of Fire, passion and energy.
I call upon you: the fiery rays of the sun, the dancing flames of the hearthfire, and the deep heat within the Earth's core... grace our circle with Your Presence this night.
Red Lion of the Southern Desert, I summon, stir, and call Thee up!

Guardians of the Watchtowers of the West, Powers of Water, intuition, and emotion.
I call upon you: the mountain streamlets, the mighty rivers, and the vast oceans ... grace our circle with Your Presence this night.
Sweet Dolphin of the Western Seas, I summon, stir, and call Thee up!

Guardians of the Watchtowers of the North, Powers of Earth, sensation, and all things material.
I call upon you: the towering mountains, the fertile plains, and the enduring bedrock... grace our circle with Your Presence this night.
Black Wolf of the Northern Forest, I summon, stir, and call Thee up!

Invoking the God

HP invokes the God saying:

Now do I call You to this our circle, Great Lord of all.
I call You by your many names and faces:
the Good Father, the Green Man, the Horned One,
the Clever Trickster, the Gentle Brother, the Passionate Lover,
the Mighty Warrior, the Strong Defender, the Wise Sage.
Let Your Spirit now descend on me!

Invoking the Goddess

HP kneels in the West and calls upon the Goddess saying:

I invoke and call upon Thee,
O Mighty Mother of us al,
Bringer of all fruitfulness.
By seed and root, by bud and stem,
By leaf and flower and fruit,
By life and love,
Do I invoke Thee to descend upon
Her who is here in Your Name.

HPs: Draws the power of the moon into her.

HP says:

Listen to the words of the Great Mother,
Who of old was called among men
Artemis, Astarte, Diana, Aphrodite, Cerridwin,
And by many other names.

HPs says:

At my altars the youth of most distant ages
Gave love and made due sacrifice.
Once in the month, at the time of the full moon,
Gather and adore Me.
Lead My dance in the greenwood shade,
By the light of the full moon.
In a place wild and lone,
Dance about My altar stone.
Work the holy mystery, ye who are fain to sorcery.
Work ye My mysteries in mirth!
No other law but love I know;
By naught but love may I be known.
All things living are Mine own;
From Me they come --- to Me they go.

All raise their hands to the moon and say:

Great Mother, Giver of all Life,
I invoke You into this blessed circle,
That Your Presence here
May fill me with joy and understanding.
Triple moon, Ever-Changing One,
In invoke and call upon Thee.

Stating the Purpose

HP says:

The Elder Grove is gathered tonigh to celebrate the Full Moon, to honor the Lady and the Lord, and to bring fruition to the magicks that we began at the New Moon, and to perform such work as any of us may bring to the circle. Welcome.

Cakes and Wine

HPs holds the cakes while the HP blesses them saying:
Horned One! Horned One!
God of forest, field and sun;
These our offerings, Lord, to Thee,
Who givest Life to all we see.
Half a man and half beast,
Come to us and share our feast.
Accept these cakes I offer Thee,
God of all fertility.

Dismissing the Quarters

Those who called the quarters will dismiss them saying: Guardians of the Watchtowers of the North, Powers of Earth, we thank Thee for attending.
If go Ye must, we say: Hail and Farewell!

Others (echo): Hail and Farewell!
And so on for the West, South and East.

Opening the Circle

HP starts in the East and moving widdershins with his athame. Upon returning to the East, replaces the athame on the altar. HPs says:
By the Earth that is Her body,
by the Air that is Her breath,
by the Fire of Her bright spirit,
by the living Waters of Her womb,
may the peace of the Goddess go in your hearts.
The circle is open but never broken.

(Here all join in.) Merry meet, and merry part, and merry meet again!
