Beginner's Guide to Golf Equipment
Even though some tour pros carry clubs like a 7 degree driver, lob wedge, or 1 iron, amateur golfers don't need these clubs when they
start golfing. For a beginner, a set with every other club starting with a 3 iron will surely suffice. A used set of about 8 clubs should
cost under $100.00. Putters these days can cost up to $200.00, but they all do the same job so you can get a good one for
about $35.00. Golf bags aren't cheap either but a basic sturdy bag can be bought at about $70.00. If you're a first time
golfer, golf shoes aren't neccessary but if you're planning to start up a cheap pair will probably be around $90.00. Balls are
getting rather expensive and can cost up to $13.00 a sleeve (3 balls)! You'll probably be able to find an "experienced balls"
bin at your local golf shop and can get about 8 balls for $10.00. You should always have at least 10 balls in your bag to prevent
running back to the Pro Shop for more. You can get a bag of 20 tees for $1.00 without any hassle. A glove might also be
needed but not all golfers use gloves. They can cost around $14.00 and remember if you're a right handed golfer, get a left
handed glove, and if you're a left handed golfer, get a right handed glove.
