Conflicts with the City of Grand Forks Official Community Plan: |

The City of Grand Forks is on the record stating that this property would be developed as a LIGHT INDUSTRIAL SITE. The city is also on the record stating that the Value Added Wood Products and Processing (such as Paxton) would be allowed on this site. This stands in conflict with the OCP listing Value Added Wood Products and Processing as and example of the HEAVY INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITY. We request that the City of Grand Forks clarify its position on this issue and clearly state their intention whether it is to be the LIGHT or HEAVY industrial park. Proposing the installation of heavy industry on the site significantly changes the scope of the environmental and socio-economic concerns about the site.
