      • McLain -Felix Duncan b.1853 in Alabama - Felix was located on the 1880 census, Lawrence Co. Alabama, along with his wife Mary FLANNIGAN and two of their children, William b. 1877 and Felix b. 1878. William and the younger Felix later married girls in Oklahoma territory. It is not known if the family moved there while the boys were young, or if the two brothers moved there after they were grown. It is said that this McLain family originally came to the US from Scotland, but I've yet to find that connection. Who were Felix's parents?

UPDATE!-Felix Duncan And Mary had 12 children, 6 of each. And I've managed to find all but two girls.

UPDATE #2! -Felix Duncans' parents were Allen Boston McLain and Mary Hewlett. And many brothers and sisters!

      • Holcomb -John J. b. 1890 in Lake Co. Illinois - John J ( also known as "Jack") married Sarah Jean JOHNSON b. 1888 in Illinois. They were found on the 1920 census for Steele Co. North Dakota with their children: Donald, Eunice, Helen, Barbara, & Dorothy. They moved on to Fargo, then to Bismark. John was a detective in Bismark, North Dakota when he was killed in August, 1954 during an attempted prison break. Both John and his wife, Sarah worked at the prison in Bismark when he died. His obituary listed his mother, Mrs. R.C. Holcomb as still living when he died and well as a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Corey. Is R.C. his mothers initials or his fathers? Did he have any other siblings? I've yet to locate any other family.

UPDATE #1: Mrs R.C. Holcomb is Rebecca Carsons Holcomb, step-mother to John J and his sister Charlotte Dorothy! John J's father was James Holcomb and his grandfather was John Holcomb from New York. The family settled in Lake County, Illinois where the town of Mundelein was named for the family for a while.

      • Holland -James Madison Holland b. abt 1870 in Kentucky. James married Eliza Katherine FILES b. abt 1870 in Bingham, Alabama. They lived in Oklahoma where they had all 8 of their children : Ida Belle, Jeanetta "Etta", Alberta (twin), Elberta (twin), Ada, Arthur, Walter, Madison. There is quite a lot of family from Ida Belle to present. But, I have no information on any of the other siblings.

Does anyone know anything about James and his wife, Katherine FILES? I'm unable to locate them anywhere.

      • Narum-Joseph b. 1903 in North Dakota - Joseph married Eunice J. HOLCOMB b. 1916 in Fargo, North Dakota. They were married for about four years and had one son, Bruce Oliver b. Dec. 1936. Eunice went on to remarry and refused contact with Joseph. Joseph did remarry a lady named Beth?, but had no other children. Bruce grew up not knowing Joseph or any of his family. It was New Years of 1988 that Joseph contacted Bruce at his home in California. He traveled to his sons home for a long visit and on January 24, 1988 Joseph died at his sons home. While there, Joseph spoke of his brother Garfield and a sister that was still living in Texas at the time. Joseph also spoke of his family coming from Norway. He was buried in Minnesota. If anyone has any clues to this family, please contact me. Yes, Joseph was my grandfather and I'd like to find that part of my family that I've never known.

Update #1: I've found his parents and grandparents! Albert Narum and Martina Erickson are Josephs parents, Johannes Christiansen was his grandfather. And I've found family I never knew! Thanks to all the cousins I've met.
