This is a narrative history of Duncans who descended from John Duncan, who settled in 1752 on what became Duncan Creek in Laurens and Newberry Counties. All available information is included on the first three generations of Duncans and placed in the context of local history. The first four chapters are "Aberdeen to Penn's Colony," "The South Carolina Upcountry," "The Revolutionary War," and "The Duncans' Community." Thereafter, the book follows selected descendants who went to North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Indiana and points west.
