Understanding Arithmetic in Paint Shop Pro

What does the Arithmetic function do?
The Arithmetic function takes two images as input and then combines both of the images into a third seperate image.

Image Arithmetic Function Table of results:
Add Image 1 + Image 2
Subtract Image 1 - Image 2
Multiply Image 1 x Image 2
Difference Absolute Value of Image 1 - Image 2
Lightest Max. of Image 1, Image 2
Darkest Max. of Image 1, Image 2
