Tango is in my blood. My mother was born in Argentina, the land of tango, in a small town, village if you will, San Luis. She migrated to the United States in 1971, coming to New York City. I was born in 1976. My mother has been listening to tango since I can remember. I love it. It is very sensual and romantic, besides it is beautiful to dance and to watch others dance to it. Julio Sosa and Carlos Gardel were mostly the ones my mom listened to with Julio Sosa being the favorite. Now, Julio Iglesias has made an album called "Tango". It is wonderful. He has mixed his sensuous style and added it to the classic tango. Even adding a few electric guitar riffs to the tango, "Cambalache". Many have critizised that a "spaniard" sing Tango. To me, Julio Iglesias has done a wonderful job singing tango. So much so, that I would love to see him when he comes to Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace. I just hope the tickets aren't too expensive. Julio Iglesias's Tango has reached gold in the US, proving the album was wonderful.
The owner of the mansion, as you may or may not know, is Yira Calabrillo. The first name was inspiration from the tango
"Yira....Yira". As you will see in the glossary, this name is not really a name at all. It means, "wanderer". A fitting name for
a woman who is a vampyre. I now leave you with this knowledge and with the lyrics (In Spanish and translated to English).
If you are still reading this, I appreciate your interest in Tango, as I have put my heart into these pages.
Thank you,
Yira
