....For now, Transylvania will only support Vampire: The Dark Ages. In an attempt to keep it as simple as possible for now. Other will be added later as per enough requests and support from players like you. Till further notice, only these books shall be allowed for character Creation.
....Vampire: The Dark Ages (WW 2800)
....Dark Ages Companion ...(WW 2804)
....**Libellus Sanguinis 1 ...(WW 2807)- Consult the MST first.

T h e H i e r a r c h y
....For logic's sake, we have created various positions of power. People who roll dice for characters, tell them what happens, and report to the Master-Storyteller who then awards experience for services rendered.

Master ST ....Rodrigo Salcedo....GFXA68B
AST..............Matt Kenyon.........NEWV25D

T h e T o o l s

....Dice is all you need. The dice idea originated from New York Vampire: The Masquerade (Another organization that has recently shut down due to technical problems), and goes as follows: To keep everyone on the same page, and to keep bickering down to a minimum, only the Assistant Storyteller, Storyteller and Master Storyteller are allowed to roll dice. The only time a player rolls is if the Storyteller or Master Storyteller permits s/he to do so.

I d e n t i f i c a t i o n

....In an effort to recognize who is in Transylvania World of Darkness, the Master Storyteller would like all members to put "Tr-WoD" somewhere in their Member Information screen. Preferably in the City/State slot.

T h e G o l d e n R u l e

....The Master Storyteller and Storyteller are free to ignore, bend, abuse, remove, alter or modify any of the rules in the game they are elected for at any time. This is the Golden Rule, published in all the main White Wolf books (Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, etc.).

Character Creation -----------------------------------------------------------------------

....All characters are limited to Dark Ages rules. Once a character has been created, mail it to Master Storyteller. A biography of your character is also required. This should include how s/he became Kindred, an explanation of any Allies, contacts, and Resources a character might have, as well as the nature of any mortal ties you may have taken as merits, and a list of equipment normally carried. You may include anything else you like, and you're encouraged to be creative. One more note...please work with the MST while creating a character. Failure to do so may result in a delay or denial of approval. Thanks.

Vampire: T h e D a r k A g e s

....Rules are as follows. Only Vampire: The Dark Ages (WW 2800) is allowed in character creation thus far. Clan books from Vampire: The Masquerade may be used, but with caution.
....The only Merits/Flaws that we have restricted are as follows:
Merits
Iron Will (4 pt), Werewolf Companion (3 pt), Mage Companion (3 pt), Wraith Companion (3 pt), Inconnu Associate (5 pt), Blasé (3M), Supernatural Spouse(4M), Self Confidence(5M).
Flaws

Dark Fate (5 pt)

....Characters are allowed 25 "freebie points" to spend on their characters as they deem fit. Besides that follow the basic rules. Once the vampire character is complete send him/her to the Master Storyteller. The Master Storyteller has the right to send your characters back for redoing if they find something wrong with it. Of course, they must tell you what is wrong with your character before sending it back.
....You may begin only with the three/four disciplines of your clan - this overrides the suggestion of the basic rule book which allows players to spend freebies on other non-clan disciplines. Acquiring other disciplines will require you to undertake small Stories and possibly even take part in rituals to gain the valuable blood holding these arts. When your character enters the game, you are not allowed you have any one discipline with a rating of above 3.

C a i t i f f

....For those who wish to create Caitiff characters, there are several restrictions of note. These are in addition to the others included in this text. Caitiff may be no lower than the 10th generation, as they are to become less rare only in the modern era. Caitiff may take any basic disciplines, but may not take Celerity, Potence, and Fortitude together.
....Restricted Merits: Reputation(2M), Pawn(3M), Boon(1-3M)
....Restricted Backgrounds: Status, Mentor, Influence.

B a c k g r o u n d s O f N o t e

Resources

....Resources is CRITICAL to the character in Transylvania World of Darkness. You should have at least a one in Resources, or your character will be considered homeless. Homeless characters do not have access to weapons, gear, or even new clothing. Everything must be acquired via Role playing, or by the generosity of the other players. Havens are usually highly un-secure for homeless vampires.

Allies/Contacts

....Must me specified and approved by the MST. As their is a fine line between the 2, s/he will be the final word with what works and what doesn't work. These are your friends/Companions in some situations, any abuse of these will result in revoking of them. No ifs, and's or but's.

Mentor

....Mentors must be approved also. If you wish to use one from the city's Elders' you may ask the MST as to what you may use. They will play the Mentor as the character see's needed. Again, Any abuse of this background will result in revoking of the usage of it.

Status

....Status may not be above 2 dots, as their are already set Elders and Primogen within the city. Remember, this is Status among your "people". Acting foolishly will decrease this, acting accordingly will increase this. This is a very fickled Background.

Retainers

....Retainers will be made by the MST. If you take the merit Strong Ghoul s/he will appoint the points where s/he see's fit. Don't forget, these are Ghouls. They have personalities of their own, with personal quirks. Some may be great fighters but have their own agenda. Some may be very loyal but lack in physical notation.

....Let it be known that once you have begun play, you CANNOT purchase new Backgrounds through experience. You may increase the current ones through natural events in the Chronicle, but this is a slow and difficult process. You may also achieve a Background from time to time as part of a story, but NEVER simply on a whim.

W i l l p o w e r

....Willpower will be "refreshed" once every four days. By this I mean every Monday morning and Friday morning you will have all your temporary Willpower restored. In the mean time, you will recover temporary willpower as stated in the books, most notably by you Nature. If you are engaged in a story line which meets to play on a daily or weekly basis, Willpower will not refresh until the story has been concluded (Should you spend WP between sessions, it is at your own risk).

E x p e r i e n c e

....Experience points will be awarded to you based on how you Role Play, what you accomplish, and more. To gain Experience you simply record your activity in a chat log and send it in. Please do not send 7 chat logs all at once. EXP will be sent via mail with in 3 days. Please forgive the long time it takes but you must think that there is more then just you out there, along with other duties the M/ST's must do.
....Spending experince in Transylvania By Night is not quite as simple as a bit of math and some clicks of a mouse. In order to achieve a greater sense of realism, as well as to maintain balance and as an incentive to role play, several conditions are placed on how experience may be spent.
....Now...before you e-mail me with a complaint that it's hard for your character to advance, I shall reiterate an often-forgotten aspect of the White Wolf system. Humans are rated in their attributes on a scale of 1-5. A rating of 1 is below average in Attributes. A person with a 1 in dexterity is incredibly clutzy. A rating of two is average; your common joe. A rating of 3 is good, 4 is exellent and at 5 you're at the pinacle of human capability. Beyond five, your prowess is superhuman. The same applies to skills (1 being a novice, 5 being one of the greatest masters the world has ever known, and beyond 5 being of legendary skill), talents (a rating of 1 indicates you're rather mediocre, a rating of 5 indicates a degree of talent so high it's uncanny, while beyond 5 is simply unbelievable), and knowledges (at 1 you're rather vaguely familiar with the subject, at 5 you're renouned as one of the formost experts in that field, and beyond 5 you have the wisdom of centuries of personal experience). Most humans fall within the 1-3 point range. This being said, advancment beyond the 3rd rank in many traits involves hunting out a teacher and convincing her to take you under her wing. Should you want to raise a trait above 5 (as is possible for some vampires), you must seek supernatural assistance - a quest in itself.
....Now...not all traits require teaching. Only skills and knowledges require actual tutiledge. The system for such is simple. Once a suitable teacher has been located, training may begin. The Storyteller rolls the teacher's Intelligence + Instruction against a difficulty of 11 - the student's intelligence. This roll may be made once per full week of instruction time. The number of successess obtained indicates the number of experience points which may be put towards the desired trait. Note...this system will only be used in case of active teaching. The Storyteller may allow an increase under different circumstances, if it is appropriate (A dot of lupine lore might be in order after a nasty encounter..).
....With the Storyteller's permission, other traits may be raised as well. A log of what brought the breakthrough, increase in self-confidence, etc may be requested, and the Storyteller is fully within his rights to declare that an experience just wasn't significant enough to warrent a raise.

R e t i r e m e n t

....In the event you wish to retire a character from play, either because you have become bored with it, or decided to try something new, you may contact an Assistant Storyteller on the floor or you may E-Mail the Master Storyteller with a request for retirement.
....When a character is retired, he or she is NOT archived. The character is DELETED from the databases of the Storyteller, Master Storyteller and Assistant Storytellers and all records associated with that character are also purged from storage. In affect, the character never existed. In some cases, a retired character may become an NPC or may become destroyed during events after retirement to further a particular Story line.

D e a t h & T o r p o r

....Another important factor is Torpor. If you are put into this condition as the result of combat, you will be out of the game for a period of time equal to the results by the book. Therefore persons with very low humanity are effectively OUT of the game. The blood of Ancients may break a Torpor, and of course some fun side stories can arise when trying to wake a Torpored Vampire. One physical attribute is randomly reduced upon entered Torpor. Sometimes if an AST finds you on-line they will let you choose what attribute to reduce. Once the MST or a ST has reduced your attribute, you cannot have it exchanged for something else you'd rather have lowered.
....Death will be resolved as normal, as stated in the Vampire: The Dark Ages book. The last point done to you must be aggravated. If a situation arises where the character would die with out aggravated damage it is up to the M/ST to decide. The character may appeal for a "resurrection". What I mean by this is the person who owns the character can try and find a flaw in the decision. You have one hour after the death to do this.
