The highly-productive Heavenly Queen Sammi Cheng (or Zheng Xiu Wen) has released her second brand new Cantonese offering within a year.

Containing a total of eleven vocal tracks, the album showcases a mix of radio-friendly Canto-pop music like dance, rap, retro, Oriental, classical and ballad.  The first single "How To Shed Tears" is the chart-topping ballad composed by Chen Hui Yang and written by Huang Wei Wen.  

The second single "Exclusive Preview Singing" is a pumping dance track with a really neat music arrangement as it combines the sounds of both Western techno with the Chinese Orchestra instrument Gu Zheng (the arrangers are Edward Chan & Charles Lee ..... never heard of them before but well done, guys).

The title track "Love Is ..." is another nice mid-tempo rap number written by the controversial Hong Kong rap group LMF.

A host of well-known singers chipped in to write songs for Sammi, such as Sandee Chan, Candy Lo and Eason Chan.  Sammi also did the Cantonese cover "Understand" (with a completely new arrangement) of her Mandarin hit "Famous Words Of Wisdom" (or Zhi Li Ming Yan) composed by singer Chris You Hong Ming.

The CD comes bundled with a bonus VCD containing the music video of "How To Shed Tears".

Just like her beau singer Ekin Cheng, Gigi Leung (or Liang Yong Qi) has undergone a major revamp in her styling image.  She is spotting a much more casual and (may I say) sexier look in her latest Cantonese offering.

Her first single "Smoky Mist" is a nice mid-tempo track composed by Snowman Eric Kwok and written by Chen Shao Qi.  For the first time, she wrote her own title track "Sparks" which is a competent piece of ballad.  She also arranged the song herself and even played the piano in the music accompaniment. 

The first batch of the limited-edition album comes bundled with a bonus VCD containing the MTV of "Smoky Mist" and a Year 2001 calendar featuring twelve different horse-related visual images of Gigi.
