LEON LAI (BEIJING STATION) (SONY MUSIC) (MAY00)

Heavenly King Leon Lai (Li Ming) has released his brand new Cantonese album.

Once again, the music producer is Mark Lui who also composed over half of the songs here.

Altogether there are sixteen tracks, including two interlude tracks and one instrumental piece.

The first single is the techno-dance track "Full Day Love" composed by Mark Lui and written by Lin Xi.  It has a Mandarin version too which is titled "Love Sky Love Ground".

A note-worthy mention is that it includes the main theme-song "Timely Hug" from Leon's new movie "Sausalito" co-starring Maggie Cheung.  An English cover (of the same name as the movie) of "Timely Hug" is included in the album as well.  To top it up, there is also an instrumental piece.

The CD doubles up as a CD-ROM which has Leon's screen saver in it.  Finally, the album comes with a bonus VCD which has four music videos, namely, the "Full Day Love", "Love Sky Love Ground", Timely Hug" and "Sausalito".

NICHOLAS TSE (ZERO DISTANCE) (EEG) (MAY00)

Current Hong-Kong heartthrob Nicholas Tse's (or Xie Ting Feng) Cantonese album is out in the record stores.

Out of the eleven tracks here, he composed six of them and co-produced nine of them.

The first two singles are the ballad track "Once & For All" and the soft-rock number "Bull's Eye".

The CD comes bundled with a bonus VCD which contains the music videos for the above two songs.

........ and no, I'm not gonna comment on him and Faye Wong - enough is enough.

CANDY LO (COLOUR RELEASE) (SONY MUSIC) (MAY00)

Candy Lo (or Lu Qiao Ying) has come out with her third Cantonese album.

All the tracks here are co-produced by Candy herself.  She also wrote over half of the songs here, including the first ballad single "Colour Love".

In her recent releases, some people lamented that Candy has become more commercialised, the result of which she has lost the distinct alternative edge in her music which had helped to garner her critical attention in the first place.  These same group of listeners may be disappointed then to learn that the materials in her latest release tend to lean towards the radio-friendly pop genre.

In addition to the ten Cantonese songs, there are three Mandarin tracks all of which are covers of her current new Cantonese numbers including the first single "Colour Love".

The album CD doubles up as a CD-ROM which contains features such as wall paper, screen saver, database of her music albums and the music video of "Colour Love".

If you have RealPlayer , click below to preview five of the new tracks.

JOEY YUNG (NOT TO BE MISSED) (EEG) (APR00)

Hong Kong's current best-selling artiste Joey Yung (or Rong Zhu Er) has released her second EP (note : Joey has yet to release her first full-length LP album, although ironically the Singapore & Malaysia editions have combined her first and second EP into one CD package which effectively becomes an album release).

Altogether there are five new songs, including the first single dance track "Not To Be Missed".  Two bonux remix tracks of "Not To Be Missed" are found here too.

The EP comes with a VCD which contains the music video for "Not To Be Missed".

If you have RealPlayer , click below to preview two of the new tracks.
