One of the new songs "Fulfill" has received some attention from the media because it is the music work of the late Japanese song-writer cum singer Ozaki Yutaka (or Wei Qi Feng) who died in 1992 at the age of 27.  Ozaki is reportedly the idol of Zhao Chuan and in order for the latter to do the Mandarin cover of his song, Rock Records has gone through some tough obstacles before it finally obtained the music copyright.

About two years ago, she was signed on by Decca Records' Li Ya Ming after he heard a demo tape of her singing Celine Dion's hit "Because You Love Me".  According to Decca Records, Carmen became their artiste even before Grace Chow (or Zhou Hui) did.  The reason for the long delay in her album is reportedly due to her poor command of Mandarin back then.  Coming from Brunei, she originally spoke only English, Malay and Cantonese.  In order to enter the Taiwan music scene, she spent the past few years brushing up her Mandarin.  One can actually hear the results after listening to her debut album, I for one would not have believed that she used to be weak in the language.

She used to sing in pubs in Brunei and has hence accumulated years of onstage performing experience.  She is equally versatile in fast and slow numbers.

A coincidental incident happened with respect to her debut release.  She did a Mandarin cover called "Parted For Fifty Days" which is taken from an Italian song and this track was intended to be the first single.  However another female newcomer Chen Ming (from Sony Music) also sang a cover of this same Italian song and beat Carmen to it by releasing her album "Happiness" much earlier (note : Chen Ming's version is a duet sung with her fellow colleague Lin Zhi Xuan).

Another interesting note : Carmen did a second cover song called "Thought" which has already been sung before by Tracy Huang three years ago, albeit different Mandarin lyrics.  (Side-Note : the latter's version is called "Sour Sweet" (or Suan Tian) found in her album "We" (or Wo Men Ah, Wo Men) and was then the Mandarin theme-song for the Oscar film "The English Patient" (starring Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas)).

This ten-track album is produced by Chen Zi Hong, Ji Zhong Ping (the guy who discovered Grace Chow) and Zhou Bo Xiong (or Xiao Gang).

The first single is the title track ballad "Hope To Hear One More Time" composed and produced by Zhou Bo Xiong.  The second single is another ballad called "Love Makes One Weak" composed by local talent Jonathan Koh  (or Xu Hua Qiang) and written by Yao Ruo Long.

The first single is a duet called "You Are The Reason Behind Love" which is sung with fellow colleague Lin Zhi Xuan.  Both of them have actually performed together on stage before in China.  "You Are The Reason Behind Love" is a cover of an Italian song and it has sparked a song collision war with another female newbie Carmen Tao who also did the same cover but with different lyrics in her debut album "Hope To Hear One More Time". 

The second single is the title track "Happiness" composed by Dick Lee and written by Chen Yao Chuan and Yi Jia Yang.

Recorded in Hong Kong and Beijing, this album is produced by among others, Paula Ma Yu Fen, Xue Zhong Ming and Chen Yao Chuan.
