She is billed as BMG Music's newcomer of the
year. Born in Beijing but grew up in Hong Kong, Zoe Ki (or
Ji Ru Jing) is set to release her debut Mandarin album (note :
she has reportedly churned out two Cantonese albums in Hong Kong
before, but personally I have no impression of that).
The thing about this album that got my most
attention is that it is wholly produced by China uprising
song-writer Ke Zhao Lei (or Xiao Ke). He is the same guy
who has written some of my personal favourite tunes in less than
a year, such as Elva's "Best Known Stranger" (or Zui
Shou Xi De Mo Sheng Ren), Sandy Lam's "Disappear" (or
Shi Zong) and Beauty Ho's most recent hit "The Tears I Shed
For You" (or Wei Ni Liu De Lei).

After Ronald Cheng's (or Zheng Zhong Ji)
disgraceful act on the plane a few months back, the
self-confessed somber guy (who's spotting a short hair cut now)
has churned out his brand new Mandarin album.
Produced by, among others, Lin Wei Wen and
Lin Ming Yang, this album contains mainly mid-tempo and slow
mainstream "safe" pop songs. The acoustic first
single ballad "Trees Of The Bayou" is composed,
arranged, co-written and produced by Ronald himself. It
was reportedly written in memory of Daniel Chan's late manager,
Rebecca.
He
also did a Mandarin cover called "The Only Reason" of Brian McKnight's latest hit
"Back At One".
