NO NO NO

as sung by Al Bernard

How well that I remember when I was but a child
My mammy had some bee-hives in the back yard quite a while
So brother Jim took me with him one day to steal some hon.
Said, "Don't be 'fraid of them old bees
Let's kill them one by one!"
But I said, "No, no, uh uh uh, positively no.
When I say no, no, uh uh uh, then I mean them words to go.
I likes you Jim, but I can't agree
To let bees make a pin cushion of me.
No, no, uh uh uh, positively no."

Once Barnum Bailey Circus had come to town one day
A lion and a tiger got fighting during the play.
Said I, "Don't let them fight no more,
You folks know right from wrong."
Then someone cried, "Go separate them,
You look so big and strong!"
But I said, "No, no, uh uh uh, positively no.
When I say no, no, uh uh uh, then I mean those words to go.
Now, it's true I hate to see them fight
But I'll not go in that cage tonight
No, uh, uh uh uh, positively no."

I joined the Mexican army once one dark and stormy night.
The man who carried the flag along
Was killed in the very first fight.
The general he came up to me
And said "You're the man, I'm told
To go and save the flag and be
A hero brave and bold".
But I said, "No, no, uh uh uh, positively no.
When I say no, no, uh uh uh, I mean those words to go".
I said, "Please, General, use your wits
We can get another flag for at least two bits.
Huh! No, uh, uh uh uh, positively no."
