Comments: January was an interesting weather month in spite of the lack of snow. A "gravity wave" apparently occured on the 9th-10th with unexpected minor flooding here in Fairhaven and at other coastal locations at the time of high tide....Quite windy this month. 10 days had wind gusts of 25 mph or higher. Rather unusual in my wind protected area.... Lots of daily temperature records fell (records since 1975). Record lows set on the 1st with 3 deg, and the 19th with 0 deg. Record highs occured on the 3rd with 53F, the 6th with 49F, the 22nd with 48F, and the 23rd with 52F.

Correction: In my 1996 Yearly Summary sent out last month, in the "comments" section, I stated that August's precip. was 11.18". September's precip. was actually 11.18", August had 4.31".
