SUBMITTING AN INBOX REVIEW

Use the following form to send an "In-The-Box" Review submission about the contents of an unbuilt kit.  The form covers the topics preferred in a review - simply write 'nil' if you have nothing to write under a specific heading.   When applying a rating please use the following guide as a basis for reasons of consistency.

You do not have to stick to this format if you do not want to - you are welcome to email me an Inbox review of your own method and format for consderation of inclusion on the site.  The same conditions that apply to overall reviews remain for the Inbox reviews (see submissions page if you wish to hash over them then the link on that page to return here).

Ratings format preferable in reviews:
Poor - The lowest rating that really suggests the component be replaced, be wary
Adequate/Reasonable - Borderline but will do the job it's intended for, take care
Good - Better than adequate but nothing to write home about, will do the job quite okay, likely to be accurate
Very Good - Enhances the kit, will make the task enjoyable/much easier, commendable, accuracy observed
Excellent/Outstanding - Certainly is worth recognition and you can't do much better than this, superb

THIS FORM SHOULD NOW BE WORKING, IT HAS BEEN TESTED, IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A REPLY SOON, LET ME KNOW SO I CAN FURTHER INVESTIGATE ANY PROBLEMS.

You could use your email or text based client to copy your submission into just in case the form does not do the right thing - for MIE* users, to do this, put your mouse somewhere within the form (not in an input field), right-click, select "select all" then once the form is highlighted, select "copy" and paste into your text programme.  You will need to edit it to rid it of other stuff from this page like headings etc, and write in anything that is from check boxes (eg: scale) because this won't appear in your pasted copy.

THE INBOX REVIEW
Nominated expansions on each topic are merely suggestions to include
Write it all down in run-on sentences, don't worry about trying to set out your review

1. Parts: How many sprues & parts - clear, etched and plastic? any flash, panel line detail, vacform or inject mold, colour of plastic
(Box allows up to 200 characs)

2. Instructions: an overview of the format, what's included, paint range call out, are individual parts nominated color, rating of the assembly steps, what other info is included and so forth
(Box allows up to 150 characs)

3. Versions: How many aircraft types does the kit reproduce, give specific details on the versions provided
(Box allows up to 150 characs)

4. Decals: Who produces them, good register?, any stencilling, how big is the sheet, how many aircraft does it provide for
(Box allows up to 150 characs)

5. Detail: Summarise what the cockpit provides, wheel well detail, bomb bays, external detail, overall coverage
(Box allows up to 150 characs)

6. Options: What options are provided in the kit - open canopy, moveable flaps, speed brakes, propellor, positionable parts etc
(Box allows up to 150 characs)

7. Accuracy: Obviously this is a perception because the kit hasn't been built but you can still measure up the general fuselage length, span etc and note whether smaller items (aerials, air ducts etc) have been included. The Instructions also quite often provide an insight into what the kit contains and omits and positions correctly or incorrectly
(Box allows up to 200 characs)

8. Impressions:  This is where you let loose and elaborate on the details above.  An overall impression of how the kit looks, how it fits (some people will dry test fuselage fits etc) and anything else of relevance to the kit.

9. Comments: Any other comments you wish to make, for example is it a reboxing of an earlier kit, can you draw a conclusion or recommendation (if not covered in impressions) or comments about the maker or kit itself.

NB: All submissions will be acknowledged by return email as soon as possible to confirm receipt - if you do not receive a return confirmation within a few days, please get in touch with me via email
