DERA Activities

The "Deutsche Experimental Raketen Arbeitsgruppe" DERA was founded in spring 1996 by me and some other people interested in rockety for several reasons:

bring together people with the same hobby
help spreading the hobby in Germany
get an affordable insurance for our activities
have others benefit from our license holders:
Over here in Germany people can use bigger BAM certified motors as long as there is at least one license holder supervising their launches.
be able to raise the money ($1-2000!) to have some foreign (US) motors BAM certified (a costly endeavour)
Work with the federal agencies to help them understand our needs and situation as well as trying to help to generate a better legal situation for rocketry in Germany.

We are now more than 20 people, of which around 10 are active flyers.

We currently meet the first monday of each month at 20:00 in a backroom of the Planetary of the "Wilhelm Foester Sternwarte" in Berlin. The weekend after that we meet again for a club launch. The exact where and when is usually negotiated at the monday meeting.
