Comments: Access to the Internet by schools is very important
why deny another tool of learning and recreation?
However,it must never replace the reading of books
and the presence of a qualified teacher.

Comments: I think it sucks that I can't access a server for my WEBTV unit without paying a toll call. I use my unit primarily in my motorhome and most places I have been able to access without a problem. I found out however that when I am at my home location I don't have toll free access. I do have toll free access for my regular computer, but still can't use my WEBTV unit. Sure hate to keep paying that monthly charge but I must because I never know when I might take to the road again.

Comments: WebTV is fantastic! I very rarely send or receive
Email. I especially enjoy Yahoo financial sites, car
racing info, local newspapers from various cities,
travel info and so many other interesting and
informative areas on the WWW. The WebTv staff has
been very patient and helpful with the few problems I
have had. I had to return 2 wireless keyboards
because they did not operate correctly. If I had not
contracted with my local phone company for an extended
calling area service at an additional cost of $8
monthly I would have been charged $700 for my use of
WebTv.(Thats correct! Seven Hundred per month.)

Comments: AS FAR AS THE MICROSOFT/WEBTV MERGER IS CONCERNED I
FEEL IT CAN ONLY LEAD TO BETTER THINGS FOR THE ENTIRE
WEB TV COMMUNITY. A LOWER PRICE FOR THE WEB TV
TERMINAL IS GREAT, HOWEVER I'M PART OF THE GROUP THAT
HAS PAID TOP DOLLAR FOR THE TERMINAL DURING THE FIRST
SIX MONTHS IT WAS MAKETED. I FEEL THEY SHOULD HAVE
WAITED A LITTLE LONGER BEFORE THEY LOWERED THE PRICE.
DOING THAT WOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN FAIR TO THOSE WHO PAID
RETAIL WHEN THE TERMINAL FIRST CAME OUT.

about a 3 months ago. And about one month ago a new
remote because one day that just died on me! Now
within the last couple of days this new unit has been
acting up?? Does anyone know what the real problem is?
I must say that the people at both webtv and PM have
been very nice! even if you have to wait 30min.
waiting on the phone..Is it true that the box should
not be pluged into a surge protector!! because the box
has its own surge protector in it, Could some one let
me know Please. Thanking you in advance! Pete...

Comments: The WebTv is the bestthing to happen in years. It is
inexpensive, even at the original price, simple to set
up, fune and easy to use. I've had my system since
Feb 22, 1997, and I'm on line daily. I had phone line
problems for eight hours one day, and I started to
experience withdrawal!! It's a great system, I love
it and it will even be better on the next up grade.
Those printers will really be the frosting on the
cake. I have a PC, but I would rather use my WebTv.
No down time, you can get on line faster than AOL, and
you can do it all from the comfort of your den or
living room. A great product....wish I had stock in
it.....when folks realize what they are missing, the
sales should go sky high. I love my WebTv. We've got
to get Tee/Sweat Shirts. They would be great at the
Jersey Shore! You have a great site.

Comments: I like alot of the features on web-tv,although I do
think web-tv has to have video,it is in my opinion
the most important feature you can have on a tv set.
I hope with microsoft coming on board web-tv will
start to add some more upgrades, like a
printer,java,shockwave,real audio 3.0,and possibly
some kind of disc drive, maybe something that could
store 100 MB,and also if you can add a printer, there's
no reason why you can't add a scanner.I know this all
sounds like I'm building a computer,but that's what
happens when you create a MONSTER.I love my web-tv,and
I am willing to go the DISTANCE. Steven P. Ganno

Comments: Review of last week's survey results indicates the
vast majority of users are adults and that price is
not a significant deterent to purchase. WebTV
advertising portrays the box as a low cost toy for

Comments: 1. Microsoft Deal, hopeful of many more upgrades.
2.Price Reduction,As other items as they get older
they tend to get lower prices. Then you can have more
than one. Sharing with my grandchildren I might
consider another webtv terminal. As we already have
more than one tv and vcr already. The only problem I
can see would be another phone line. How would that
work? If possible please advise. We don`t have a pc
and webtv is good for ALL AGES and we enjoy it as a
family together. Keep up the good times together is so
important today. THANKS!!

Comments: We don't see what a price reduction has to do with the
essential quality of WebTV, nor of it's accessibility
value. WebTV's sold out in Sacramento at Xmas and
there are no ads running in our area offering WebTV
for sale. It is an amazing product! Our entire family
sits around the screen and reads anything and
everything; we go all around the world; we shop, shop,
shop; we read mysteries together; we access whatever
we need to know about. We have been able to see what
to do about a funeral and let me tell you that the
relief for a grieving person to be able to access
information without some fool trying to make our life
miserable with selling to us. We accessed flowers
and were thus able to make an informed and very
beautiful gift of a standing wreath without wrecking
ourselves. We have dropped all of our subscriptions;
just think! no more contests,no more bills, no more
wasting of trees and money! Oh, yes! We can click
away with the touch of a finger from anything that
makes us feel bad; and we don't have to do anything
about aspects of life, such as our politicians, but,
oh boy! can we ever let them know promptly and cleanly
exactly what we will stand for and what we will get
rid of. The feeling of empowerment is phenomenal!

the Microsoft/WebTV deal STINKS!!!! I can't stand
Bill Gates!! He's a money grubbing little troll! He
saw something that's going to revolutionize tv and he

the price reduction is great but I don't feel it was

Comments: I hope the microsoft deal will enable webtv to
increase their advertising budget so we all (original
webbies) dont lose this wonderful thing called WEBTV
as long as the people who where running webtv still
can call ALL the shots there shouldn't be a problem.
As far as reducing the price! well, spend some of
gates money on a mass blitz to the general public,
give some units away to educational programs,
libraries, womens shelters ( great free advertising)
and helpful to the communities. If you just let the
general public know about this product you could raise
the price instead of lowering it. Most everyone I
talk to hasn't a clue as to what WEBTV is or can do.
You must change that!!

WEBTV. WRONG! It is NOT the same setup he has! This
thing has done nothing but aggravate me to death.
