Wild Utah: America's Redrock Wilderness
is a multi-media slide show documenting citizen efforts to protect public lands in southern Utah's spectacular canyon country as Wilderness. This 20-minute journey through some of America's most stunning landscapes highlights the threats to our wilderness heritage, and invigorates and motivates viewers to get involved in the movement to protect these unique landscapes.Narrated in part by Pulitzer-prize winning author Wallace Stegner, the show features the photographic talents of internationally recognized photographers Tom Till, James Kay, and others.
The slickrock canyons and mesas of the Colorado Plateau are some of the most visually stunning landscapes on earth, and are in danger of being lost to commercial development and overuse by off-road vehicles. These land forms are scattered around the state, which already boasts five world-class national parks, including Zion, Arches, and Canyonlands.
In conjunction with a 20-minute presentation on the status of the Utah Wilderness protection movement by SUWA Grassroots Coordinator
Keith Hammond, this inspirational and informational event is a must see for citizens wishing to become personally involved in preserving America's vanishing wild places.
