LACERTA
The Lizard
(Lac)

Generalities: it is a small constellation of the northern sky, deprived of particularly bright stars.  The Lizard transits at midnight in September.

Origins and mythology: it is a "modern" constellation, introduced by Hevelius in 1690 and it is not tied to any particular traditions.

Stars: it shows only a star under  magnitude 4. This star has magnitude 3.77, it is of white color and is one hundred light-years far.

Other objects: it contains an open cluster, which can be observed even with simple binoculars.
