
Generalities: it is a constellation of the southern sky, extremely colorless. Its transit at midnight takes place in December.
Origins and mythology: it has been so called by Lacaille, with reference to Mons Mensae, the Table Mountain, the Southafrican place where the astronomer moved to fathom the southern sky.
Stars: the Table doesn't contain any stars of magnitude inferior to 5. The brightest star has downright magnitude 5.09.
Other objects: interesting objects are not included in it, only a small part of the Great Magellan Cloud is part of its boundaries.
