Captain William J. Speed's Notes regarding Company D


This document is a hand-written record kept by William J. Speed.   William Speed was the Captain of company D from July 26th, 1862 until he was killed at Gettysburg on July 1, 1863.  After Speed's death, the document eventually passed into the hands of George Haigh, the final Captain of company D.  The text marked in red is upside down on the original document.
