Hale-Bopp is still visible in the Southern Hemisphere, but still only in a very narrow window between twilight and comet-set, and despite the southern winter. Both images all from one exposure made at 1997 June 5 06:15 UT. Kodak Gold 400, manually guided one minute exposure, 300mm lens at f4.5; Comet Hale Bopp in the company of Betelgeuse and mu Orionis. Second image is enhanced to illustrate the tail extending faintly down to lower right.
