HILLER UH12D (OH-23D)

En 1955 aparece una nueva versión en la serie UH-12, esta sería la UH-12C. Mantiene el motor Flanklin de 200 hp pero se cambias las palas del rotor anteriormente de madera por palas metálicas y la cabina cuenta con una nueva burbuja Y tiene una cabina mas ancha con capacidad para tres personas. Desde 1956, se entregan 145 ejemplares al US Army bajo la designación H-23C.

Una versión puramente militar, la H23D/OH23D (civil UH12D), vuela por primera vez el 3 de abril de 1956 y se entregan 483 aparatos al US Army. El motor Franklin será reemplazado por otro mas potente, el Lycoming V0425-A1CVO de 250 hp, cambiándose también la transmisión, incrementándose la vida límite del helicóptero.

In 1955 a new variant, the UH-12C, appeared. It retained the 200hp Franklin engine, but had all-metal rotor blades and a "goldfish bowl" cockpit canopy. From 1956, 145 were delivered to the US Army as the H-23C.

A purely military version, the H23D/OH23D (Civilian UH12D), flew on 3 April 1956 and 483 went to the US Army. The Franklin engine had been replaced by the more powerful 250 hp Lycoming VO-540, and the transmission had also been changed to increase the service life of the helicopter. The UH-12Cs followed the same general lines as the B models but had wider canopies to accommodate three people.
