The Black History Month Committee of Osgoode Hall Law School at York University presents a Black History Month Symposium entitled "Reporting on Race Then and Now: The Press, Race Relations and Public Policy"

Prominent African Canadian journalists will give their views on how the press has affected public policy, particularly in the justice system. They will also discuss the important and proactive role of African Canadian journalists in countering negative stereotypes of African Canadians in the mainstream press. Finally, they will discuss important policy issues including their role as agents of change.
