KNESSET TO DEBATE DOCTORED FILM
The "doctored film clip" story has reached the Knesset. MK Ruby
Rivlin of the Likud has raised the issue for Knesset discussion, and it
will be debated tomorrow. Rivlin claims that "manipulation, distortion,
and incitement" are nothing new at Israel Television. Chaim Misgav,
private attorney of Israel Broadcasting Authority director Uri Porat, said
that Porat's consent to suspend the firing of news editors Natan Guttman
and Elisha Spiegelman is far from final. Porat had earlier found
them responsible for doctoring a film clip in such a manner as to portray
Prime
Minister Netanyahu as cheering on anti-Arab incitement. Misgav
told an Arutz-7 correspondent today that in his opinion, Spiegelman will
be removed from his position, while Guttman will apologize and be allowed
to continue
in his job.

SPECIAL SCREENING OF DOCTORED FILM CLIP
Israel Broadcasting Authority director Uri Porat has asked Attorney-General
Elyakim Rubenstein to replace his lawyers with others who identify with
his position. Porat will view the controversial doctored film-clip
of Prime
Minister Netanyahu and the Beitar supporters this afternoon together
with the Attorney-General and State Attorney Edna Arbel.

IBA's PORAT STANDING FIRM
IBA Director Uri Porat is not willing to settle for a letter of apology
from Television News editors Elisha Spiegelman and Natan Guttman.
He said that their editing of a film clip in a way that made Prime
Minister
Netanyahu appear to be encouraging anti-Arab incitement is "an act
of fabrication to which I will not be a party." Porat is scheduled
to meet with the two editors, whom he ordered removed from their
positions, on Sunday.
