I bought the Chinese Newspaper "World Journal (Daily News)" on Saturday, July 25, 1998. I read the information on Page B-1. The information to the rape picture were wrong. The same picture that I saw on the internet . There were picture in East Timor, and the photo taken should be some time before November 15, 1997.

The photo 1, photo 2, and photo 3 were taken place in East Timor. The women were raped are East Timorian, Not what we see on the newspaper said that the Chinese were raped in May 1998. The women were raped in 1997 were East Timorian. The women were raped in May 13-14 were Chinese and native. These are two big differences, and two different cases.

The photo 4, those men who were tighten out on the floor, they were not Chinese. They were native Indonesian who robbed and burned the Chinese properties in Cengkareng, Bekasi. I saw this video/ news in Jakarta after may 14, 1998. On may 15, 1998 early morning, about 2:00 am there were still some robbery and burning housing in Pantai Indah Kapuk, and Cengkareng. Because this robber did not see the TV annoucement in the late evening of May 14. That's why they are surrendered easily. On May 15, 1998, the police and army started to arrest the robber approximately 200 people for the first day. They kept arrest more people later. That's why it stopped killing, robbery, raped, burning. after May 15.

The information for the photo should be corrected. Please do not misquide the Chinese or the people outside Indonesia. If this photo turn to US Government or United Nations, or other Organization, then they turn to Indonesia to investigation. The Indonesia government might still have the video to prove that there were not Chinese, but the native robbery.

I think the news should publish more detail on Vivian cases. It's so cruel. Accross her apartment building, there is a Chinese funeral house. The dead people were pulled out from the building and hang, kicked, and played, after that , they burn the dead body. It was so smell that native people around that area can not eat in a few days. because the dead smell still around the area.

hi. I would like to say thanks to all of you who have helped to propogate the injustice which have happened in Indonesia.

I knew Many innocent Indo-Chinese were killed, burned and raped. I even knew the stats of the raping incidents BUT I NEVER REALIZE THE UNIMAGINABLE PAIN AND SUFFERING THESE PEOPLE HAD TO GO THROUGH until I saw the online photos of the burnt people and the tortured corpses. After reading the raped victims' narration of their imhuman assault, I am totally overwhelmed of the tragedy especially I am a Malaysian Chinese who knew of racial tension and a keen person who 've seen graphic reports of mutilated Bosnean males during the Bosnia-Hesagovena civil ethnic cleansing. I feel so much pain as a woman who knows the great significants of virginity to a Chinese woman as I see the brutally naked broom stick pierced body and imagine the many emotionally tormented young girls and women which are still beyond my comprehension.

I don't know what to say more except my deep grief for them. I hope and wish they can pull themselves together again after this unspeakable nightmare.

Please don't give up hope as many people around the world are acknowledging the present injustice and are keeping a close eye on Indonesia's political stability.
