!Cultural Emergency!
A National Day of Protest! A Day Without Art or Culture.
Artists and Cultural workers protest Federal and Provincial cutbacks.
Stop the Attacks on CBC!
Save CKUA!
Join us at Noon at Gazebo Park, 103 Street and 83 Ave.
Artists and culutral workers will engage in performance art depicting the death by a thousand cuts.

International Day of Mourning Candlelighting Ceremony

A ceremony commemorating dead and injured workers
Sponsored by the Alberta Federation of Labour and the Alberta & NWT Building Trades Council
Begun in Canada the Day of Mourning has now been recognized by
the ICTFU and the United Nations.
The day of mourning theme: Mourn for the Dead-Fight for the Living
leads perfectly into our May Week events.

Protest Privatization of Canada Post

Join members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW)
including The National President and Executive Officers,
at 1 PM, to Protest Privatization of Canada Post.
Rally at the office of the Honorable Anne McLellan,
Minister of Natural Resources

Open Stage - Work Poetry & Music

Bissell Centre -10527-96 St.- 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Cash prizes for best poems in four categories:
searching for a job, working, fighting back, looking at the future
Deadline for submissions is April 28th.
Local musicians will be performing at an open stage.

Workers Pride Parade


Proud of your union and your work?
Stand up for workers' rights-join the labour parade
12:30 PM meet at Giovanni Caboto Park, 95 St. and 109 Ave.
1 p.m. March to Churchill Square.
Bring union banners, signs, union flags.
Wear your union jackets, hats etc.
Coordinated by the CLC/AFL/EDLC.
Part of the CLC National Day of Protest.
Safeway Strikers will lead the Parade!
Make sure your local is out in force.
