Michigan City News, Jan. 29, 1908
One of the oldest and best known of Michigan City's German residents passed away Friday evening at 8 o clock in the person of Mrs. Wilhelmina Fausch. Death resulted from old age. Mrs. Fausch had been making her home with her granddaughter, Mrs Louis Miller, 119 east Warren street and has been bedfast the past two months. The aged lady was a member of St. Pauls church and was much thought of in the community.
Mrs. Fausch was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Molkentine, both deceased and was born Nov. 22, 1823 in Pomern, Prussia, having been 84 years old on her last birthday. She came with her husband, Frederick Fausch, whom she married in Germany to America in 1857 and Michigan City was her first and only home on this side of the Atlantic ocean. Mr. Fausch died 12 years ago last September in Michigan City. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Michael Sieben of chicago and Mrs. Fred Groehler, this city. Fifteen grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive.
The funeral has been set for Mon-day afternoon at 2 o clock from St. Pauls church. Rev. H. C. Wickemeyer will officiate. The remains will be interred in Greenwood cemetery. It was the wish of Mrs. Fausch that no flowers should be sent by friends.
