Carhenge, Nebraska

On a field about two miles north of Alliance Nebraska, somebody with too much time on their hands decided to take a bunch of junk cars, paint them gray, and use them in place of megaliths for a scaled-down replica of Stonehenge, the famous ancient astronomical assemblage in England.

We were there in the fall of '97, and my son was two years old at the time. He loved cars and trucks; anything that "vrooms", in his words. He was pretty confused at Carhenge: "Mommy, how you vroom those cars?"

Some other interesting scrap metal sculptures are there, too.
