Terry Lanier Alford, aircraft commander; WO1 Jim Ray Cavender, pilot; SP4 John Allen Ware, crew chief; and JSP4 James Robert. Klimo, door gunner; were flying a series of combat support missions in a UH1H helicopter (serial #67-19512) in South Vietnam. WO Alford was returning to his base at Nha Trang from Duc Lap at about 1920 hours when he made his last known radio contact with the 48th Aviation Company Operations at Ninh Hoa.
Dr. Eleanor Ardel Vietti. Dr. Eleanor Ardel Vietti, one of the few civilians who is not reported to have died. She will be 70 this year. Eleanor is one of Three Female to come up missing in South Vietnam, all three women are civilians and believed to have died in captivity but no remains have been returned.
Lieutenant Colonel Robert Raymond Dyczkowski, Robert R. Dyczkowski was born in Buffalo, New York in 1932. He attended St. Mary's Parochial School and Burgard Vocational High School, where he became a member of the Civil Air Patrol. While a member of the Air Force reserves, he was accepted for pilot training and subsequently sent to Vietnam as an F105 pilot. He failed to rejoin a flight after acknowledging instructions to do so. Subsequent radio contact with him was unsuccessful all search efforts were fruitless. There has been no further information concerning his fate.
