8 Steps To Help Control Anger

Face it, everyone loses their temper from time to time. Anger is a big problem especially when there is a potential to abuse a child. Here are 8 easy tips to help control your temper.

1. Take a deep breath, remember you are supposed to be the adult.

2. Close your eyes, imagine what it is like to be a child hearing the anger that you are about to show.

3. Press your lips together and count to 20.

4. Put your child in a time-out chair if they need to be punished-a good rule of thumb is one time our minute for each year of age.

5. Call a friend, get your mind off of things.

6. If you have someone that can watch the kids, take a walk or hot bubble bath. Find something soothing and relaxing.

7. Splash some cold water on your face.

8. Turn on some music. Find something that you enjoy and sing along.
