I'm on an obsessed fangirls ML. That is, girls who are obsessed with male or female RPG/Anime characters. I sent in a Brigandine shounen-ai fic. It's a boy/boy love fic. The ending depicted an older knight masturbating over a younger prince.

A girl on the ML innocently asked, "wouldn't that be yaoi?" (yaoi would be graphic male homosexual sex). I said that it wasn't. Someone else implied that it was.

In a nutshell, it escalated from ratings systems to a religious discussion. Someone else on the ML asked "what makes you think that shounen-ai is not normal?" ("or wrong") The first someone then began to use her religion to explain why homosexuality was wrong. That really bothered me. So, I replied. It got worse. It became a debate about Catholicism and religion that really got to me. It's a looong story. But, I have a problem with some of the Christain doctrines this someone was voicing.

A lot of what I said came from personal experiance and from intelligent teachers who question everything. So, I came across as a real bitch.

Thankfully, many members of the ML refused to discuss the religious debate. It didn't turn into an outright flamewar. After my paragraph long reply to her 11k to a former reply I had, The religious girl just announced that she would not say anything more of this since it would only make things worse.

The ML Admin also suggested that I post the arguements on my rant page rather than on the ML. It's a good idea. I'll think about that.

I was quite content to say the least.

Religion gets to me. I'm no Satanist and it's not like I'm really anti-Christain. It's just that some of the doctrine and ideals irritate me. That's all.
