Lebanon Tuesday March 27, 2001. Between 150,000 and 250,000 Lebanese turned out to welcome the returning spiritual leader of the Maronite Church, Cardinal Nasrallah Sfeir, from a North American tour. In an outpouring of loyalty turned into a mass demonstration against Syria's continued control over Lebanon.
