Kabbani official: MSA, Bin Laden plotting nuclear holocaust

Nojan Mirahmadi, owner and registered agent of the Kabbani-affiliated
American Muslim Assistance (AMA), claimed in a statement yesterday that
"crazed youth" from the Muslim Students' Association (MSA) and accused
terrorist Osama bin Laden are plotting to detonate an atomic bomb in
either Washington, DC or New York City.

"It is time for the people to know who is supporting Bin Laden and his
desire to detonate an Atomic Bomb in Washington or New York, in a plan
orchestrated by crazed youth in Muslim student associations (sic)," said
Mirahmadi in the Feb. 2 statement distributed over the internet.

Nojan Mirahmadi is the owner and registered agent of American Muslim
Assistance (AMA), a California-based relief agency affiliated with
controversial Sufi leader Hisham Kabbani. AMA organizes Kabbani's annual
"Unity Conferences," and publishes "The Muslim Magazine."

Kabbani officials regularly accuse MSA of extremism. In a December, 1995
incident, Kabbani activists succeeding in shutting down MSA-Net after
suggesting in a series of e-mails to the owners of MSA-Net's server that
MSA might be a terrorist organization. (See:
)

Kabbani officials wrote that MSA is "a group of extremist Moslems,"
whose "extremist positions are more of the realm of terrorism and blood
lusting than they are of any religious or spiritual tendency." MSA,
they said, "supports ideas of fundamentalist groups reminiscent of
fanatic 'Jihads' that have been issued by extremists."

In a series of recent internet statements, Kabbani officials have
accused other national Muslim organizations of supporting terrorism and
harboring extremist views.
