Assalaamu alaikum wa rahamtullah

For the moment, Allah (swt) knows the answer to that question. But if
and until the truth comes out, for some clues, I advise everyone to
check out the latest issue of "The Muslim Magazine," Kabbani's
publication.

The issue features an article by Kabbani and Mateen Siddiqi denouncing
the Mujahideen (may Allah reward them and accept their shuhadaa/martyrs)
who traveled to Bosnia, Tajikistan, and other places as "terrorists" and
"extremists." Kabbani's article is supposedly about Bin Ladin, whom he
naturally despises, but his description of these mujahideen refers only
to "Afghan Arabs," not bin Ladin's group. He offers no proof to link
these brothers with bin Ladin.

Kabbani and Siddiqi write that a Mujahideen base in Afghanistan is...

"...both strange and frightening indeed...Their main objective is to
fight on an international scale, wherever they are needed and whenever
they are called, even if on a moment's notice."

"The base is surrounded by signs and fiery slogans such as JIHAD -
ISTISHAAD - JANNAH (Holy War-Martyrdom-Paradise)..."

"The arsenal arrayed here is like a buffet of steel from the depths of
hell..."

"They are taught they must cleanse Muslim regimes of infidelity..."

Are these things frightening? Am I an extremist because I went to Bosnia
and fought the Serbs? Am I an extremist because I am comforted by the
existence of a group of Muslims who are ready to fight oppresion in the
Muslim world "wherever they are needed and whenever they are called,
even if on a moment's notice"? May Allah reward these young men, and the
people that support them with dua and money.

Why is the "arsenal" of Mujahideen described as a "buffet of steel from
the depths of hell"? Why doesn't Kabbani describe with that language the
missiles fired by his article's sources in "American intelligence"?

Are the beautiful words "Jihaad - Istishaad - Jannah" really "fiery
slogans"? The words bring tears to my eyes, may Allah grant these things
to all his slaves. Am I an extremist?

The same article speaks in glowing terms of western intelligence
agencies who carry out activities like "tapping satellite conversations
of Kuwaiti extremists." Kabbani and Siddiqi praise the efforts of
"American intelligence," which they claim "has identified many radical
organizations operating in Kuwait as genuine charities. THESE CHARITIES
SECRETLY ASSIST THE POLITICAL AND MILITARY AGENDA OF THE EXTREMISTS,
DONATING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO GROUPS THAT OPPOSE THE GOVERNMENT AND
THE WEST." (emphasis added)

So anyone that opposes the policies of the Kuwaiti government and "the
west" an extremist? I oppose lots of Kuwait's policies, and I oppose
lots of America's policies. Does that make me a "radical"?

Kabbani and Siddiqi parrot the paranoid rantings of the enemies of
Islam. Their "journalism" mirrors the work of Steven Emerson. The
Mujahideen of the world are all linked to Bin Ladin, they claim, and
they are all "killing machines." Who are their sources? Anonymous, of
course. "American intelligence has..." A western investigator
explained..." "Official sources..." "A high official at USAID in
Pakistan said..." Why don't they tell us who these people are that are
making these outrageous accusations?

Kabbani writes, "Sources say American satelite data on bin Laded and
movement of his network obtained after the attack on his bases in
Afghanistan gives rise to major concerns." WHAT SOURCES DOES KABBANI
HAVE THAT ARE PRIVY TO "AMERICAN SATELITE DATA"?

Kabbani and Siddiqi expose themselves as Munafiqeen. What reason do they
have to swallow uncritically ANYTHING that "American intelligence" and
"Official sources" say? At no point in the article do they question the
truthfulness of these fundamentally biased sources. At no point in the
article do Kabbani and Siddiqi indicate that they attempted to contact
the organizations and individuals that they smeared. These are more
Emerson-like techniques.

I condemn anyone who kills innocent civilians, the end doesn't justify
the means. Whoever does so has to answer to Allah (SWT), and that
applies to Bin Ladin if he is responsible for the bombings in Africa.
But why does Kabbani condemn Bin Ladin's alleged violence, and fail to
condemn in such harsh language US attacks on Sudan and Afghanistan? Its
not "extremism" to say that these attacks were as much a violation of
international law as the bombings in Africa.

As someone who has studied closely the work of anti-Islamic operatives
like Steven Emerson, Khalid Duran, Saif and Omar Ashmawy, etc, I can say
with absolute confidence that this article was in fact the work of their
allies, disguised as the work of a Muslim and slipped into a slick
magazine overflowing with Islamic symbols to give it legitimacy.

Kabbani and his group are absolutely agents of an intelligence agency,
be it Israeli, Egyptian, American, or whatever. If it looks like a duck
and quacks like a duck, its a duck. This article is disinformation that
smells of CIA or israeli propaganda.

Don't forget to check out the outrageous attacks in this issue on ISNA
and anyone else that dares disagree with Kabbani's discredited agenda.

Allahu musta'an.
