Our GrandShaykh says,"FATIHA, the first Sura (chapter) of the Qur’an, came twice, once in Meccaand once in Medina. What is the reason that Allah sent this sura twice"?

It is because FATIHAis the most important Sura in the Qur’an. According to tradition all Holybooks are contained in the Qur’an and all meanings of Qur’an are containedin FATIHA. Therefore, if a man reads Sura FATIHA, it is as if he had readall Holy books and Qur’an also!

FATIHA contains theBible, Torah, Pslams, one hundred pages that were sent before Holy books,and all of Qur’an. Therefore, it has been ordered to read FATIHA in everyprayer. If a man reads Quran seven times without FATIHA he cannot reachthe reward gained by one reading of FATIHA!

ALLAH sent FATIHA firstin Mecca, along with it came endless Rahma (mercy). Gabrael brought FATIHAto Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said, "Oh Muhammad! Allah All-Mightygives you His salams and says to you "Good tidings for FATIHA; if anyonefrom your ummah (nation) reads FATIHA even once, in his life, it will beenough, and more, for that servant!"

He who reads FATIHA,will take enough Rahma (mercy) from one reading to last his whole life.Even if he is an unbeliever, one reading will bring him to Iman (faith),perhaps at the last moment of his life. This is because faith is original,inborn with people. Unbelief is a temporary condition added later. FATIHAwill bring faith even to a doer of bad things.

The second time FATIHAcame was in Medina. Again it came with endless Rahma (mercy), but thisRahma was not like the first. The second Rahma for FATIHA was so big andso powerful that the angels who brought the first Rahma were unable tocarry it. Allah said to Muhammad (peace be upon him) the second time, "Omy Prophet! I am sending to you, from My Mercy Oceans of FATIHA, only onewave; one wave only from the Mercy Oceans in My Divine Presence! If youknew the whole Mercy Oceans belonging to FATIHA, you would not order yournation to pray, worship or anything else; for that Mercy from FATIHA would be enough! But no one knows the wideness of My Mercy Oceans!

The second wave of Mercyfrom FATIHA was so strong that, by comparison, the first wave, which camein Mecca was nothing. Allah All-Mighty said, "O my beloved Muhammad! IfMy servants know what I am hiding from them in My Mercy Oceans they wouldsay no need for any worshipping. If a man does sajdah (prostration) allhis life, he will take from that ocean only a drop. But Allah is sendingoceans, not drops. He gives out of His generosity, not because of anyone’sworship and regardless of anyone’s lack of worship. This is the interpretationof the verse, ‘Allah All-Mighty is giving endless honor and glory to thesons of Adam (peace be upon him).’
