(1) William Gyrlyngton, born in Burnby, Lincolnshire. Died June 7th, 1516. Son of Nicholas Gyrlyngton and Elizabeth (unknown maiden name). Married Katherine Hilyard and had son Nicholas. He was said to be of Burnby in the parish of Fordingham, Lincolnshire. (2) Nicholas Girlington, born 1493, died 1552. Son of William and Katherine. Married Anne Portington and had son Nicholas. (3) Nicholas Girlington, born 1520, died 1564. Son of Nicholas and Anne. Married Anne Aske and had son Nicholas. He became Lord of Normanby following the death of his father and sold the manor and estates in 1556 and then moved to Barnbow to claim his inheritance from his grandfather, John Grenefeld. (4) Nicholas Girlington, died 1608. Son of Nicholas and Anne. Married Joan Bayley and had son William. (5) William Girlington, born 1586. Son of Nicholas and Joan. Married an unknown woman and had daughter Katherine. (6) Katherine Girlington, born 1617 in Southcave, Yorkshire, England. Married Sir John Girlington (fifth cousin). She was heir of her uncle Nicholas Girlington and her marriage to John united the two Girlington branches.
