The Regult or Battle pod ( or even the 'headless ostrich) is for general T'sentrati use, they have millions and millions of these pods ready for deployment into any battle the T'sentrati happen to be fighting with at the time. In reality though these pods don't have much in the way of fire power or protection, they are slower then just about any T'sentrati mecha and are definitely lacking in the steering department. These pods are easy to make, therefore their use is for one reason, to overwhealm the enemy with sheer numbers, and compared to the RDF the T'sentrati have some formidiable numbers. However due to the Veritech's supreme supiority over the pod, and the fact the T'sentrati don't want to distroy the SDF-1, the usual plan fails. The pod is primairly a space mecha, unlilke the Veritech or T'sentrati Power Armours it can not fly very well in atmospheric conditions, therefore really only suitable for ground combat in those situations. The pod is also slow compared to just about everything else, which makes it very difficult for the pilot to out manoveer their opponet. Beyond that, with only a small viewport it's hard to see much of the battle. It also has no missles (unless it is of heavy artillary class) only four lasers. The Regult also has, as Miriya Parina Sterling revealed, a weak spot between the legs. If the pod is hit there all control systems are disable, though the pod is still intact it is practically helpless. This was employed during the battle on Max Sterling and Miriya Parina's Wedding day. The captured T'sentrati satilite also seems to specialise in the making of the Regult pod, that is until it breaks down. Most of the Regults were distroyed during the last battle of the Imperial Fleet. A few remain though it is not thought that they will ever see operation again, especially with better Micronian weapons been developed. Despite its shortcomings the pod is still regarded as the mantle of the T'sentrati Infantry, and this is right. Without the pod, the T'sentrati would not have been the waring race they were. |
