Breetai
Aside from Commander in Chief Dolza Breetai has to be the tallest and stronges of all the Zentraedi.
He is pretty much unmistakable with his metal half crowl and green crystal eyepiece. We first meet Breetai when he and his fleet emerge just out of Earth's orbit having sensed the SDF-1 on the planent. When the SDF-1's reflex weaponry distroy two of his fleet he launches an attack on Macross Island. Later he takes the fleet to just beyond Pluto to follow and try and capture the SDF-1 as it journeys home.
He is unsuccessful however.
Unprepared for the Micronians approach he often finds that despite the overwealming force the SDF-1 is almost indistructiable, or certainly uncapturable.
Later he decides to call up Khryon leader of the 7th Bortru Division to attempt to capture the ship. When Khryon's attempt to do so on Mars fails Breetai finds a near uncontrollable menace on his hands.
During the Miss Macross Pagent he sends out a recon to gather more information about the strange 'cermony' the recon officers Rico, Konda and Bron are attacked and barely escape with their lives. The recon ship is distroyed so only the threes observations are left.
Later one of Khryon's attacks opens the way for some Micronians to be captured. Breetai sends a small attack group to capture the Micronians recon vessel. When the escort squadron attempts to save the occuptants of the recon plane Breetai attacks the Veritechs with his bare hands. Despite getting sucked out into space he survives and returns to the hold, smashing one Battloid and ripping apart another, which blows up and sucks the third into space. This doesn't matter as the Zentraedi still have three Micronians to study.
At his faithful advisor Exedore's suggestions Breetai folds his ship to Dolza's command centre. It is there Dolza interogates the three Micronians, and Breetai is among the first Zentraedi to witness a kiss. He along with Exedore, Dolza, Rico, Konda and Bron are horrified.
When the Micronians escape (incidiently crashing through his Command post) Dolza blames Breetai and takes him off the SDF-1 mission.
Breetai is later reinstated and folds with a fleet of a million back to the Moons orbit.
Breetai becomes concerned when the three spies (Rico, Konda and Bron) return from the SDF-1 excited about Micronian life. It is then he attempts to keep a distance from the Micronians, although he has come to respect them a great deal. When some Zentraedi defect and later more refuses to fight Breetai (against Dolza's orders) sends the micronised Exedore to the SDF-1 for peace talks.
A hasty peace is made when it is revealed Dolza and the Imperial Fleet are on the way to distroy the Micronians, Earth and the SDF-1. Breetai fights bravely on the Micronian side during the last battle
with the Zentraedi.
We last see Breetai when the Factory Sattlite is captured in a co-ordinated Micronian/Zentraedi offensive. By then he has become more accustomed to Micronian behavior and even factors a kiss into the attack plan.
