Cat's Eye Recon Plane

Used by: Any Veritech or Destroid pilot needed for recon missions. A few specfically trained pilots also.
The Cat's Eye Recon was created for the specific purpose of reconisonce (as the name suggests) the Cat's Eye is a two person craft, on person to fly it (who seats in the rear cock-pit bubble) the other to process, archive and interpt the information and send it back to the SDF-1.
The Cat's Eye Recon plane is equiped with a giant scanner dish, resembling an eye thus qiving the plane it's name, and two powerfu engines that have bothe atmospheric and space capablities.
Unfortunately for the operators of the Cat's Eye it is equiped with no weaponry, not even a laser, so therefore requires an escort on any really dangerous missions.
The Cat's Eye Recon Plane was used on Mars, to search the area, persumely first to search for any survivors on the Base, and secondly when a disturbance was detected out of the indentify range of the SDF-1's radar to investigate.
The Cat's Eye Recon was used again by Lt. Comdr. Lisa Hayes in order to investigate the Zentraedi made meteor field when the long distance radar was knocked out by Khyron's blast.
The Cat's Eye and it's Veritech Escourt arecaptured during this mission, and this is the last we see of the plane.
In some sources we are told that the unarmed Cat's Eye was later replaced by a specially modified Veritech, the VF-1E. This Veritech was equiped with the scanner eye, and beyond that weapons so that it could defend itself if attacked. Although we never see this Veritech, we assume that it exsisted later on.
