Max Type Veritech

Created by: The EVE Scienctisits for the the Robotech Project.

Used by: Max Sterling a specially issued fighter.

The Max type Veritech is another well known symbol of the Macross Saga, painted blue it is as easily distinguishable from the crowd as Skull-001. It is uncertain excatly why the VF-1J was painted in the first place, but is believed to be Max's own addition to his fighter. And was probably allowed because of Max's qualities as a Veritech pilot, as far as we know it has no special capibilties, though Max has worked on it himself so he may have added a few bits and pieces to it.
Max has had two of these planes, the first one been distroyed during the risky escape from Breetai's ship, although not before Max had dressed it in a Zentraedi uniform to escape detection and when discovered crashing through Breetai's command deck glass.
The second Max Type was later equiped with a FAST pack during the last battle with the Imperial Fleet, where he few with is wife Miriya. Max and Miriya also did a fly-by around the SDF-1 in it during their Wedding Day. It was also how Miriya indentifed the ace pilot who had bested her, seeing as it it was a one of a kind Veritech.
Max also becomes second in command of the Skull Squadron, and prehaps even his own Squadron after the birth of his daughter.
Max's plane survived Khyron's last attack, but what happened to it is unknown, but it was probably put in either a measum or kept by Max himself and taken on the SDF-3's mission to Tirol. Although Max is the head of the Skull Squadron by then so probably flies a Skull Veritech.
The Max Type has the standard VF-1J armanent, two lasers, a galting gun and six to twelve missles, although Max uses all of these to their best advantage. He is near unstoppable when he gets the FAST pack with it's extra missles, with Miriya's help of course.

You've also probably noticed that the picture here is of a toy Veritech, actually Valkyrie, this was a toy released in Japan to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Macross.
