MACROSS SAGA
TIMELINE
Welcome to my Robotech Timeline, which is of course similar to many others on the web. However I have added a few of my own variations in (such as how long it took the SDF-1 to return to Earth, and how long it was there), so enjoy!
July 1999: During the peak of the Global War, an alien spaceship crashes to Earth, landing on Macross Island. Peace deals are made almost immediately in the face of alien attack.
2000-2009: The RDF (Robotech Defence Force) is formed, it's maing traing base is on Macross Island. The Veritech and other Robotech mecha are created. The alien ship is studied and is reconstructed, and is named the SDF-1 (Super-Dimensional Fortress).
Thrusday July 2nd 2009: After ten years the SDF-1 is christened, during the Launch Day cermonies, the T'sentrati, an alien race, who have been searching for the ship for 10 years attack.
Rick Hunter, a 19 year old civilian pilot, ends up behind the controls of a Veritech fighter. He manages to rescue 15 year old Lynn Minmei, the two of them are later rescued by Lt. Comdr. Roy Fokker.
The SDF-1 folds, aiming for the area behing the moon, but due to a malfunction end up beyond the orbit of Pluto, taking Macross Island with them.
Rick and Minmei try and leave the ship, but are also caught up in the space-fold and have to return. However they end up in a sealed off part of the SDF-1.
July 3rd-15th 2009: Macross Island's 70,000 refugees (safe in the shelters) are relocated into the holds of the ship and Macross City begins to be rebuilt.
The T'sentrati discover Micronians are in pocession of the SDF-1.
It is revealed that the space fold generators have disappeared during the fold, preventing a quick return to Earth.
Lynn Minmei and Rick Hunter spend two weeks together in a deused part of the SDF-1 before been rescued.
July-August 2009: Macross City continues to be rebuilt inside the SDF-1.
The T'sentrati dold to where the SDF-1 is, leaving the Earth. Lynn Minmei sugests that instead of giving out rations, the city operates normally with resturants, shops etc. The idea is eagerly taken up.
The two aircraft carriers that where also carried with Macross Island, Daedlus and Promethesus are grafted onto the SDF-1.
Dr. Lang reveals the main-gun of the SDF-1 can not be fired unless a radical transformation is done.
The T'sentrati attack and the Veritech Squadrons are sent out, when the alien force soon overwealms them Capt. Gloval orders a transformation.
The main gun is fired, repelling the attackers, but Macross City is left in shambles.
Rick Hunter decides to join the Robotech Defense Force.
After four weeks of training Rick is assigned to the Skull Squadron under Lt. Comdr. Fokker.
Approaching Saturn the EVE scienctists devise the pin-point barrier. Gloval decides to hide in the ice rings of Saturn and stage a surprise attack on the T'sentrati.
The VF Squadrons are sent to do a Blitzkrieg on the alien ships, with heavy losses.
The pin-point barrier protects the SDF-1, but interferes with the firing of the main gun.
Lt. Comdr. Lisa Hayes devises the Daedlus Attack, where-by the air-craft carrier arm, is swung and the attack alien cruiser in a punch, and once inside the enemy ship release a volley of missles.
Rick Hunter is the first Micronian to get in and out of a T'sentrati battleship.
The Daedlus attack is a complete success.
September 2009: Max Sterling and Ben Dixion join the RDF.
October 2009: The SDF-1 nears Mars, low on food, medicines and fuel.
Commander Breetai, of the T'sentrati, calls up Khyron Leader of the 7th Mechanised Divison of the Botoru Battlion to capture the SDF-1.
Khyron stages an attack on Mars, using the abandoned Sara Base as bait. Turning on the communication systems and sending signals to the SDf-1 in hopes the Micronians will investigate.
Believing there to be surviviors at the base and needing to restock the SDf-1 lands on Mars.
Lt. Comdr. Hayes searching for surviviors as the SDF-1 restocks, unknown to the humans, the SDF-1 has landed ontop of gravitiy mines, that will at full power hold the ship down. By the time they realise it is a trick, it is to late to do anything and Khyron attacks in full force.
Capt. Gloval decides that the destruction of Mars Base Sara's power reactor will lead to the destruction of the gravity mines also, Lt. Comdr. Hayes is ordered to overload the system.
Hayes succeeds but is trapped inside the base, she is rescued seconds before the explosion by Sgt. Rick Hunter.
The gravity mines are destroyed and the SDF-1 lifts off leaving Khyron in the dust, vowing he will destroy the SDF-1 at any cost.
October 29th, 2009: Rick Hunter is promoted to Lieutenant, recieves a medal and assigned the newly graduated Corprals Max Sterling and Ben Dixion.
The three become fast friends and go to Lynn Minmei's 16th birthday, however in the middle of it there is an attack by Khyron, who is working under the pretense that he is practicing war games. He blocks the SDF-1's radar and sends a decoy team to divert the VT Squadrons away from the SDF-1.
Only Hunter's Squad remains near the ship to repel Khyrons force, they do so couragiously well, with Max Sterling revealing his remarkable flying ablities. Rick and Khyron face off.
Commander Breetai learning of Khyron's attack uses the navigation over-ride to recall them, the SDF-1 is saved.
Rick Hunter gives Lynn Minmei his Titianium Medal of Valour which he got for his actions on Mars, just mintues before midnight.
November- December 2009: The SDF-1 continues to try and reach Earth, remaining in Mars' orbit until they can get a good launch window. They don't get one for a while.
Small attacks on the SDF-1, no conclusive victories for any side.
