VF-1A

Used by: All enlisted pilots and most Lieutenants.
The VF-1A is the human equivilant to the Battlepod, although it's much better equiped then a Regult could ever be.
Although it isn't quite as fast and doesn't handle quite as smoothly as the VF-1J or 1S, it has all three modes, missles and a gatling.
It only has one laser however and therefore isn't as well armed as it's counterparts. It is much cheaper to build however, and therefore makes up the bulk of the Veritech Squadrons. It is usually used be all enlisted men up to Lieutenants, once they have reached a certainly level of skill the pilot will recieve a VF-1J.
We don't see much of the VF-1A close up, but we do know that unlike the VF-1J the 1A is a uniformally creamy brown colour with a white nose, and most of them don't seem to have much in the way of identification in the case of which Squadron they belong to.
The VF-1A never is equiped with a FAST pack, instead during the last Battle with the Imperial Fleet these planes made up the reserves along with the battlepods. A fair number of VF-1A's survived the war and were put in patrol groups to help repell renegade Zentraedi. Max Sterling and his wife Miriya lead a squad of VF-1A's after they returned from leave during the late end of 2013.
After Khyron's last battle it would appear as if the VF-1A was phased out to remain only as back up aircraft as newly developed mecha took over.
