The most important event in my life is the day I decided to accept Jesus Christ into my life.
I am indeed most grateful to God for his love, patience & mercy towards me. I am what I am today only because of Him. This is the story of how & why I became a Christian. I was born into a Roman Catholic family & all the while I thought I was a Christian. However, I felt that I was no different from my other friends who were not Christians. I even felt some were much better than me. As I grew up & saw people whom I knew dying, I began to ask myself, "What is the meaning of life?" Many times too, I felt an emptiness in my heart & I began to search for ways to fill this emptiness. I tried entertainment & also tried to belong to groups which I considered cool. However, after all these things, I still felt empty inside. People whom I thought were friends let me down while entertainment could fill this emptiness for a short time only. I began to feel depressed, worried a lot, & had a very low self esteem of myself.

However, God was really gracious to me & used a lady to challenge me to read 1 chapter of the bible every day. She always said that if I considered myself a Christian, I should read God’s word so that I could know what God wants me to do. After some time, I finally relented & as I began to read God’s word daily, I could really hear God speaking to me & teaching me. At that time also, I started attending a Brethren church called Klang Gospel Hall. At 1 of their evangelistic meetings, I understood that I was not a Christian until I received Jesus personally into my life. So that day, I decided I wanted to experience God’s love & forgiveness & so I accepted Jesus into my life. This was in 1991. Since then, God has been teaching me many things & has been changing me, slowly but surely.

Now, I really want to thank God for what He has done for me in my life. Slowly I stopped worrying, began to be more confident & have since been able to experience the joy & peace that I so longed for. I no longer felt the need to do what other people do to be accepted & I no longer felt the emptiness inside. Indeed God is very real to me & I know that everyday He is working in me to make me more & more like Him. That is why I am writing all this right now. If today you are seeking for the meaning of life & if you feel yourself groping around in darkness, turn to Jesus. He is the only way!
