History
The
Zeta Sigma Chapter of Sigma
Sigma
Sigma was chartered on
September
11, 1994.
It
started when a group of girls wanted to join
a
sorority but didn't feel that they
belonged
with the other sororities on Duquesne's campus. They petitioned to
the Office of Greek Life to form their own sorority.
Three
sororities expressed interest in setting up a chapter at Duquesne, but
the Office of Greek Life and the Pan-Hellenic decided on Sigma Sigma Sigma
because of their diversity.
The charter sisters of Zeta Sigma adopted a local mascot, the frog.
The
frog represents longevity and fertility.
